D90 rear tub trailer
Been toying with the idea of building the spare D90 tub I have into a little expo style trailer to haul behind the D100, mostly because I can't bear to scrap it & it's a PITA to keep moving around by myself...
This is the tub as it came off...
I have a length of tub top to make a closing panel for the front & I can modify the hood to have a window in the front & a cover over the little front box. Also have the old swing away spare carrier for the back too.
So, was thinking of using some spindles, hubs & rear disc's & calipers along with a hydraulic surge brake coupler to keep it simple & retain the LR lug patten.... welded onto a 3" tube for the axle.
Shocks prob some Pro Comps or similar.
Thoughts.....

Re: D90 rear tub trailer
Hi Andy,
I was planning on doing the same thing with a 109 tub... there was one in Vic a little while ago. I ended up buying a bantam army trailer from the 50's, it was $300 so you cant go wrong. It needed about $70 in parts and I'll rattle can it grey to match my rover.
I am upgrading my springs to parablics, courtesy of Jeremy at Rocky Mountain. If you'd like you are welcome to my old Springs once I'm done.
I'm located on the island and interested in seeing more pics as the project continues.

Re: D90 rear tub trailer
This project has been on the back burner for a long time, made a bit of progress last year by building a frame & axle that uses stock LR axle stub shafts.
Did a bit more over Christmas and drew up the caliper brackets & some end caps for the hubs. Have most parts to get it to a roller stage this spring.

Re: D90 rear tub trailer
Finished up the capping on the front panel & also got the hood extension made out of some spare material. Next to pull the tub back off & finish the frame.

Re: D90 rear tub trailer
Painting time !
Brushed on the primer for a thicker coat.
Then hit it with the rattle cans of high build chassis enamel.
