Carb fittings. Series 1

Hi everyone, does anyone know if the banjo fittings on a cheap Chinese knock off of the Solex carb will fit the threads on an original Solex?

The Chinese carb I have has failed here in Istanbul on our trip and I am considering ordering the original from Dunsfold but I don't know if I also need to order the fittings, or if they even have the fittings.

Can't answer your specific question about the fittings but given your situation if you want a quick answer from people who do then log onto the Australian Land Rover Owners site (AULRO.com). Wealth of knowledge in there and fast turn around time on responses.

I hope its not as cold camping in Turkey as it is here right now. :D

Thanks Tony! Changed the carb, but still have the same problem. So no idea what the issue is but I'm going to try to track it down before we leave Istanbul.

Hows the coil? or the distributor? or maybe crap plugging the fuel line at the source way before the filter?

Pulled a big chunk of silicon out of the line going into the fuel filter. Matches the silicon holding the sender unit in the tank. Also put in bigger jets. Distributor seems ok. Not sure how to check the coil.

If you stuck with my fuel pump setup there is a second filter before the pump, so check that one as well

Hi Jake, I found a huge piece of Orange silicon in that filter so that may have been a contributing factor. :-)
