Tire talk

#1 Post by Djakefry » Tue May 02, 2017 10:43 am

I'm thinking of getting a new set of tires for a 97 disco

We going to do a summer drive through the cascades, Idaho and then the sierra in California.

I like some thing that will help the feel consumption, track well and not be too oversize

80% of the driving is likely going to be on paved roads, some highway

20 % lumber roads and exploring outings

What been recommended thus far is a bf goodrich t/a K02 with diameter of 29.5

Any other recommendations?

by the way the disco has a 300 tdi

I went for the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac over the BFG AT KO2's and I've been really happy with them. Nice and quiet on paved roads and awesome off-road. I like the look better too; still not sold on the diagonal bars on the sidewalls of the KO2's.

Last year I got a set of Bridgestone Duravis from Costco tor under $800 all in and am delighted with them. Quiet on the highway yet climbs like fiend on the tral. Getting 100Km for 10L to Yukon and back last month so some something working right.
