How to Wire Aux Work Lights to Stock D2 Dash Switch

Trying to use the stock Disco 2 dash switches to operate my aux back up lights.

Used this diagram, lights come on when switch is depressed, but as soon as you let off switch, lights go off?

Tried different switches, but none will stay on?

Only thing I did different was to connect Relay Terminal #86 to Constant + Power as I wanted to be either On or Off.

Finally found out why.
Disco 2 Front & Rear Fog Lamp Switches only send a signal to the ECU. That's why they are "Momentary Switches" & don't "click" On/Off.

I am now using a Disco 2 Cruise Control Switch (clicks On/Off) with its Pig Tail & this diagram.

Since I want the Work Lights to stay on when the Ign Switch is off, I connected Term #1 on the Switch to Constant Power.
#2 still wires to the Dash Panel Lights.


NOTE: I didn't try the above wiring diagram with a Disco 2 Cruise Switch, it may work?

Don't go by the Wire Colors on the Switch, but by the Terminal Numbers on the Switch
