Vancouver Island Thanks Giving Drive.

#1 Post by Greg S » Thu Sep 26, 2013 5:22 pm

At our recent meeting it was found that most people could do a drive on Monday the 14th of October. That would be Thanks Giving Day. Presently looking into a Green Mountain trip but some logistics have to be looked into (possible closed road).

I'll keep you posted on location. Expect a 0900 meeting time and out of the bush about 1530 in time to be home for a feast.

Tim Horton's 2.3 kms north of Duncan, 0900 Monday October 14th. Back on the highway 3:30 - 4:00. Possibly Green Mountain, depending on forthcoming info about a new route. Maybe Tuck Lake.

There are no services so you need to come with lunch, clothing etc.

We had a very good drive today. Wonderful weather saw all 8 vehicles through the 211 kilometres it took to go from one watershed out another. Vehicles ranging in age from 1962 to 20010(?) and the only issue was one flat tire while on asphalt.
