founders day

#1 Post by mepham55 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 7:57 am

I'm heading over for the big day in my series, anyone else from the island heading over? Show starts at 1:00 not sure if you have to be early to bring your truck inside so I'm shooting for the 9:00 or 11:00 ferry.

Yeah, I'm going with the 130, taking the Duke Point Ferry. See you there!

Great to hear you are coming over ....
The doors will open for parking inside at 1pm, you can drive in any time after that.
If you arrive early there is lots of parking just outside and you can walk in to the building for the AGM. (11am to 12.30),

See you there ....
Cheers,
Andy

I'm heading over - but going to Vancouver on Friday afternoon.

I have a hard time justifying ferry and parking costs - so I'll be on foot. Taking transit from downtown (90+ min!) Saturday at 11:00 or 12:00, then transit back to pick up my wife later in the afternoon. Heading back to the island late Saturday...

I'm planning on being there with the 90. Haven't been feeling well all week so I might not go if I'm still not feeling up to it. If the plan goes ahead, I'll be getting the Duke point ferry to get there in time for the AGM, then the 1045 home that night (do they have one to Swartz Bay?).

Nope! Answered my own question. They don't have a 1045 ferry. Last one out is 9 PM so have to leave the show BEFORE 8 PM to get it.

I really enjoyed my visit! The turnout was good (IMO!) - maybe next year I'll show up with a vehicle!

Founders day was great fun. I even managed to bring a trophy home to the island. Looking forward to some more outings this year. A big thanks to all the organizers who made this happen.

My personal favourite! Very nice. I saw you driving up the Pat Bay Highway after the ferry...

Best series 2. (Out of all 5 of them at the show!)

I think to get best in show I need to bolt more things onto my truck :D , maybe next year!

Matt,

You are far too modest, I can certainly see it winning best in show, make sure you come over for the ABFM in May to share it with thousands!!!!

Keep it original!!!!

I agree with Stuart. That is one fantastic vehicle you have there. I have never seen a new looking Series II before. I'm surprised the Land Rover Richmond guys didn't try to steal it just so it could sit in the showroom, look pretty and get the punters in.
