Mounting side steps on the RRC
Just got a set of side steps for my 87 Range rover and found that there are no holes in the frame for them. Do they mount through the frame or do they use large rivnuts? I can see that drilling the frame is going to be a real pain.

Side steps on a RRC
Hi Colin,
I took mine off my 91 RR last year (to give higher ground clearance), my side steps had two brackets each side that went from the side steps to the side of the chassis . They had three fixing points on each bracket which were tapped bolt holes directly to the chassis. I remember one of the brackets shared the fixing with the transmission mount bolt.
There was also a metal strap from the very fwd end of the steps to a point just behind the fwd wheel arch.
I still have some of the parts laying around somewhere so if you are missing anything I may have it somewhere?
If I can get you any photos or you want to take a look, just let me know,
cheers,
Andy :D
