What type of roof would it be? Early 2A.

I stopped at a place I knew there was a Land Rover rusting away. I was right! It is RUSTING away, it's been parked, not running, outside under some trees for 15 years. The owner's son (Owner now deceased.) was sure it was a 1956 but it was definately a series 2 possibly 2A. I think it was 2A! It has a peculiar roof. Appeared normal till closer examination. It is aluminum, no internal frame, only 2 ribs on the outside but larger ribs that normal on Land Rover and at the front and over the doors it is married to the mounts for a canvas top. It has a substantial rain gutter in the proper place but it is attached on the outside rather than being part of the structure and framework. There is no equivalant framework inside like on a Land Rover yet I can't see the quality and effort representing a home-made or "Fab-shop" one off project. Anyone know what it might be?

Your gonna have to show us a picture... the only thing I can think of is a series 1 safari roof without the outer skin bodged onto series 2 sides...
