There is an old 109 parked on a lot at Commercial and Powell St. in Vancouver that is in serious need of help.
It has been there for years and is now covered in blackberries and other debris and I am told that folks in the neighbourhood want to have it moved but the owner does not want to do so.
I went to look at it Monday and the owner was not around but I talked to a couple of people in neighbouring businesses and both said they want rid of it.
It is very, very rough but it would be a shame if it ended up in a crusher for lack of interest.
All the body panels appear to be on it but the doors and hood are off, perhaps piled in the back with a lot of other debris. The engine is still in it and it is on its wheels. It does not have a hard top and the canvas is lon g gone.
Perhaps if someone convinced the owner that it would go to a better home they might have a chance of getting it.

I know the one you speak of, slowly being lost in the brambles

its been parked there for a very long time.
A while back I did a bit of digging around, the owner has owned it since he was 16 & has no interest in selling it.
to my knowledge it used to be complete years ago but pieces have been stolen over time.
it would be great to see it on the road again.

Apparently he has another in a garage somewhere that he is going to restore 'someday'. I tried to buy parts from him once and he turned me down. However he did make me a window for free (he runs a glass shop), which was the part I was trying to buy.

The LR which is apart is in the attic of the shop. One of the employees took me up there to see them while the owner was away a number of years ago. They said they spend more time answer questions about the Landrovers than actually getting anything done some weeks!!
Cheers
