We are going to try and see how far up Copper canyon we can get before the snow stops us.
Meet at the Haida resturant on the main #1 highway and Henry Rd. The resturant is beside the big antique barn on the west side of the highway. You need to turn at the controlled intersection to reach it.
Coffee at 8:30 and departure at 9:00am. sharp
Bring lunch warm clothes and hand held radios if you have them.
We will try to keep this a non scratch event but your rig and pushers (I mean passengers) may get very muddy.
See you there, and please let us know if you are coming. Either on here or the Vanisle Yahoo site. Thanks Victor

Car smashed into Cyndi's Disco tonight

#4 Post by davran » Thu Dec 30, 2010 10:17 pm

Tonight Cyndi was driving her Disco down Sherman Rd towards Canada Ave in Duncan, and an early-twenties idiot in her parent's new Toyota Yaris drove towards Cyndi on the wrong side of the road. Cyndi slowed down, and finally stopped, but the aforementioned idiot drove right into Cyndi head on; Cyndi was blocked on both sides and had nowhere to go.

So, Land Rover fared much better than the Yaris, but has a mashed front end, and Cyndi spent the evening at the hospital. Doctor doesn't think there's permanent damage (to Cyndi -- he was non-committal about the Disco), but she has a lot of soft tissue injuries.

Soooo, we won't be showing up Sunday morning...

Stories like that leave one speechless don't they?

Glad Cyndi's not seriously hurt. How's the other girl?
Erica suffers "seatbelt trauma" a soft tissue injury from an crash 9 years ago, still not better and can't do a bunch of things despite physio, exercises and lots of time. Surgery not recommended as the result can easily be worse than the present symptoms.

Before you go to ICBC, go get a lawyer, have them start the process with ICBC. Since the lessons we learned from Erica's crash, despite a multitude of witnesses, we'll never go through the process again without a lawyer FIRST thing.

Thanks for the info, we have a meeting with a lawyer on Tuesday. Here's a link to accident pics:

Notice that in one of the pics how far Cyndi is over her OWN lane...
