anyone have any experience with the freelanders?
I have done a bit of google searching and have found mostly bad stuff.
any info on major issues and remedies with these trucks from local experiences?
how many miles are the engines and trannies good for?
any replacement conversions for the engine?
any and all info appreciated.

FreeLander
Hey Reza,
The Freelander or as my son calls it the "soccer mon's land rover" is a fabulous and popular vehicle in Europe but to sell it in North America they have stuffed in a petrol engine which I haven't heard anything good about.
With the diesel they are a wonderful little 4X4. I was at the testing grounds a few years ago and the engineers were "gob smacked" as to it's offround agility.
So the replacement engine is the diesel that it was always built for.
