The Rover-Landers of BC

I own a 1986 LR90 2.5 diesel n/a [ exmod ] . Cabin heat [ especially on the driver's side ] is an issue during the hot days of summer here in Prince George .

I do recall some former chatter about this on a prior thread last fall ??

I checked out a company located in Lethbridge AB ' http://www.b-quiet.com ' which is more geared to sound insulation . I'm looking for a simple solution to reduce cabin heat from a baking to a warming oven .

Closed cell foam works well. It is a good insulator, acts as a moisture barrier and does not hold water. The cheap source is carpet underlay. There is a link in a thread to the stuff at Home Depot on these forums.

I read about two guys who had this problem driving across death valley. They bought a few bags of ice and set them one at a time on the transmission tunnel. As the ice melted it naturally just leaked out the bottom of the truck...

Not a long term solution but beautiful in it's simplicity.

I'm using that stuff, can't argue with the price.

another good cheap product is the silver bubble wrap stuff you get for insulating hot water heaters. seems to work really well.

I've used it on the tranny hump in a few different cars.
