The Rover-Landers of BC

Just thought I would post some pics of my conversion from a rebuilt diesel with no pump to a gas 2.25. Thanks to Tony for the head and his spares and time. JD for the shipping and Hopefully Greg for the 5 head bolts to get this thing running!

I suppose the head gasket is an ellring brand? I heard britpart is not the greatest.

The diesel puch rods and rockers are much shorter. Diesel on the top.

Major update! :thumbleft: She runs! OKay heres the run down. The diesel cam (2.25) has to be rotated 10 degrees. Basically time it like you would a gas cam. The hayes book defines it well. I have both books and looked at the differences.
LIFT
gas are both .257"
Diesel
inlet - .262"
Exhaust - .279"
Now thats a huge difference. The valve springs just about bottom out but they are still free moving when you handcrank it. also with the 8:1 head the dosn't hit the piston.

The other differences are the openings and closing. All the diesel cams are 10 degrees retarded. Example: Gas opens the inlet at 6* BTDC and closes at 52* ABDC. Diesel Opens the inlet at 16* BTDC and Closes 42* ABDC. However the exhaust on the diesel opens at 51* BBDC. Gas opens at 34* BBDC. This has not made a impact from what I have found out yet. The Gas cam Advance Is covered by advancing the Diesel cam 10*. As said above Just move the flywheel it 0-6* BTDC, take the tensioner off and line up the cam sprocket with the timing cover bolt hole, as explained in the Hayes manual.

With that all out of the way, The other differences are the Starter. Much bigger on the Diesel. Its in the way of the exhaust. Other than that the only other thing I have had to change is the gear for the Distributor. She Fired right up after we figured we were out 180*.

Still have a long way till I can Insure it but this is a huge step forward! Thanks for reading.
