Derek and I used his Jeep to enter a GPS rally yesterday around the Stave Lake area north and east of Mission. It was a really good day and fun time. I got back to the Island last night, all in one piece but a bit worse for wear. Derek will be coming home today, but sadly without his Jeep.
No! It didn't break down, he's leaving it over there for a while on purpose.
The GPS event was put on by The Herd of Turtles 4 wheel drive club. I'm suprised there weren't a few more Roverlander's there. Sadly, there were no Land Rovers at all but lots of other vehicles. About 5 teams came up from Washington, and I would guess there was about 20 - 25 teams participating all together.
GPS ralley.

8) That was a really good event Greg and thanks for all the hard work you did finding the "BOX" and getting us moving onto the new co ordinates. Sorry I couldn't keep your feet dry. I did give it a try though. I really was wondering how we were going to ford into the middle of the lake to get the next set of numbers. It really threw me when Brian said that getting to that one would require us to go through ruts with water up to mid door. Good thing we're good swimmers!!!!
It really was a great event and I really must thank Wes Rempel and his Herd of Turtles for making this a memorable fun run.
Cheers
