Defender VOD 100, olive drab green - West Vancouver

#1 Post by archaeology_student » Sat Mar 01, 2008 4:06 pm

I was returning from a run on the sea wall in West Van yesterday, and walking back to my Disco, when I spot a nice looking Defender. Olive drab green and a left hand drive, diesel.

I do a walk around and notice something odd, on the rear of the Defender it says Defender 100 VOD? I did not notice a Roverlanders sticker, but I did notice a Unicef sticker on the rear driver window.

Whose good looking Defender did I have the pleasure of looking over?

:)

Not only "Who's is it?" but what is 100 VOD?

That is Bryan Adams brothers truck. I spoke to him several years ago. (I am assuming he still owns it).

The body was purchased in the UK, brought over. Can't remember what it was mounted on, I think it was a Series III?

It's definately on a 100" Coil Chassis. I saw this up close once at MCL 2-years ago. It must be factory build by Landrover Special vehicles. Fitted with a 5-speed gearbox and a 200Tdi. The rear tub is longer than a D90 and there is no signs of any extra seams and welds, so must be a factory build box.

Good to hear it's still around.
