I know that feeling :)
Well, if you plan another date I would love to go out for an expedition. Every second weekend of the month I am free if you would like some company. I was thinking of your offer, but my schedule did not allow it :(
I get a cliquey feeling from the club, but then again I have not been able to participate in many activities and get to know everyone; I hope to change that with some adventures with the club. I want to do some expeditions into the back country of beautiful BC. Sometimes, I think that I am a decade too late in joining, and too young considering most of the people here are maturer and have the "been there, done that" attitude.
Well, if you would like some company let me know some dates that work for you and I will do my best to make them.

-I think you must be confusing us with red90archaeology_student wrote: most of the people here are mature and have the "been there, done that" attitude.
.
and as far as the mature attitude goes, you should really get out and join us on some trips, especially if Dieter comes along !!
In fact we have two trips planned for this month,
one this coming weekend and another one on the 17 which is more of an exploration trip to the tip of Harrison Lake Port Douglas

Well hope to see you next time to.
I left “cliquey” behind in high school and that is where it remains for me.
Matters not much to me, if folks want to, don’t want to or are unable to join me on a drive offer it’s just that an “offer” take it or leave it.
Most of us are mature enough to make our own decisions one of the good strengths of this club.

Sorry to hear you feel that way, hopefully, that will change. I've been a member for less than two years and looking back I can see how one might feel that way. This is certainly no longer the case for me and I think it's for exactly the reason you have already identified: Participation. If you come to the meetings and make it out on the runs from time to time, you'll get to know others, and they'll get to know you. Or, how about writing an article for the newsletter? Then, you can be in the clique too! 8) Unless you're some kind of freak or something... Or even worse, a Mog owner! You know who you are... Kris!I get a cliquey feeling from the club, but then again I have not been able to participate in many activities and get to know everyone
Of course, I'm only kidding about the last part but the point is to get out and meet people, this isn't a spectator sport!

I think many times when the primary method of communication is online in a forum such as this, there is a high possibility of mistaking good natured jibing as being more serious than it is and perhaps cliquey.
Once you come out a get to know the group, you'll see that its a pretty easy-going group of folks. I met you at Vandusen and there were more cliques around that park than I've ever seen, what with all the toffee-noses and their fancy cars, but hopefully we weren't being standoffish too, in our dirty Land Rovers. If we were, it should be a wake-up call to all of us.
Hope to see you out...
