Iltis sale Saturday

#1 Post by Rob » Mon Mar 19, 2007 3:07 pm

I see that there is a small fleet of Iltis vehicles up for auction this weekend at Able Auction... anyone planning on looking at those trucks? Can't make it to the mainland but interested in some more info about the current units up for sale so I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has or is planning to inspect the current sale lot ( a "PM" would be appreciated).

Regards, Rob
Currently "roverless" :rev:

I know a guy that is selling one privately. He had it at this year's Founder's Day. If you want his contact info, let me know.

Hi Pete

Thanks for the info. I do recall seeing a modified Iltis at the Founders Day event. It looked nice but I am hoping on getting a plain passenger type.

I have seen a few advertised privately but it seems that there is a big difference between the private sale asking prices and what they are going for at auction... not sure if price difference is because of the cost to get the units ready for civilian life or just ambitious profit-taking. :?:

What makes you think it's modified? I don't know much about them, but I believe it's totally stock. Also, I'm pretty sure the guy is a pretty motivated seller. Whatever...it's not mine, just thought I'd pass along the info.

If I had an Iltis I'd be a motivated seller to ;)

I think "modified" was probably the wrong word to use regarding the Iltis at Founder's Day (if we are talking about the same one). I shoud have said "purpose-built" or "variant" - the one I saw had additional body fixtures and special components set-up for laying wire for communications or similar work.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your effort on the board to respond to my inquiry about an Iltis but that particular truck just isn't quite what I am looking for or within my budget.

Regards, Rob
