Whipsaw Trail Thank you

#1 Post by craig » Wed Feb 21, 2007 1:58 pm

Last Autumn Shawn Doherty met up with a bunch of us from the NorthwestOverlandSociety.org website and showed us the Whipsaw Trail. We all had a great time and wanted say Thank you to Dave Blair for answering questions about the trail ahead of time, and to Shawn for going out of his way to show us the trail. Wes from the herd of turtles also provided us with a GPS track, but thanks to Shawn we never had to use it. Certainly let us know if you ever need any info, roadside assistance, or other help down here the states.

I wrote a quick article on the trip in my blog on our website, and LRM asked if they could publish it in this months issue (March 2007). In the article are some great pictures of Shawn's 109, his dog Charlie, and at least one reference to the fact that the BC Roverlanders are doing maintenance on the trail. I thought some of you might enjoy reading it.

Thanks Shawn,
Craig on behalf of everyone that made the trip.

I just read the article last night. Just as an FYI, the bold text describing the Whipsaw Trail as being a part of the American Fur Trading industry was inserted by LRMs editorial staff. It wasn't in the original article.

Great article Craig I think they should have published it in the international edition as well. Don't worry about the American fur trade industry thing the Americans have been taking credit for our sucesses for years.
