The Rover-Landers of BC

we need to remove the starter on our 2.25l 83 11 csw -
the lower bolt is fairly accessable but the upper appears to be obstructed by the heat shields and exhaust manifold
Is ther a trick to accessing the upper bolt , or am I missing the obvious .

According to the green bible for series 3 (should be similar for your 2.25) you have to remove the exhaust heat shield and disconnect the exhaust pipe at the manifold.
