What we have here is a late Series III transmission from my personal Seris 2A that I have owned from 2002. The transmission was purchased in the UK I was using the vehicle over there and my partner had difficulty with the non-synchro box. It was installed by Footloose 4x4 and came originally from an early Defender. It has run perfectly ever since but on a recent oil change one of the harp shaped synchro springs from the 3rd 4th synchro came out with the oil. Surprisingly the drivability was not effected.
Last year I found a similar transmission, rebuilt it and installed so this one is for sale and the spring needs replacing.
These late series III boxes made are far superior in construction to trhe early ones found in local trucks.
