And found that Action Tire in Chilliwack has a bunch of Military Surplus used tires in stock. Nearly bought a set, but was concerned it may be too much tire for my set up with stock gearing and axles on a 300tdi. Looks like I am going with a set of defender stock tires on steel rims instead.
Sure do seem like a sweet set up though.
Michelin 8.25R16 XZL $200/tire installed.
I was out shopping for tires...

8.25R16 is a 33” tire. Comparable to the 285/75-16 metric size. I run this size on my D1 with a 2” lift and minor trimming of the bottom rear edge of the rear wheel wells.

Great! I’ll keep on considering them. I have OME medium duty springs in, and can do the camel cut easily.

Great damage resistant off road tires, not so good on pavement and horrid on wet or icy pavement. I'd buy a set for off roading if they where closer to me.

In the end I’m going with a set of OEM Defender Rims & Michelin tires.
If they still have some after I save my pocket money up I’ll get a set of these to go on my Disco Rims.
