Service Engine light.......

#1 Post by ANDYD » Tue Feb 21, 2006 3:56 pm

Hi Chris,

What make, model & milage is your Rover?

"Service Engine" light, this normally comes on when your vehicle reachs a set amount of milage. It was meant as a reminder to take the Rover to the dealer for a big service, they would then reset it to come on the next time the milage multiplies that number (eg, 80k, 160k, 240k).
Every model had a different number that this was set at.

Different models also have the "Check engine" light which was basically the same thing.
The "EFI" light is usally linked to the Emissions system.
