I have proposed the following to be added to the agenda of the 4WDABC AGM:
I would like to see changed, the method that 4WDABC uses to charge
their member clubs. Specifically, to allow individual members of a
member club to opt-out of the 4WDABC. Example in our case is that 80%
or more voted FOR the 4WDABC but a few are against it, and an even
lesser few are ADAMANTLY against it for one reason or another. Thus,
if we could allow them to check a box on their membership renewal to
opt out, while the rest of the group retains membership, we would be
able to please both sides of the discussion, as well as continue to
add value to the 4WDABC by still remaining an association club. This
may have kept a group like the Coquitlam Crawlers involved with the
4WDABC this year, as well. I think in a few years of doing this, you
may discover that there are a dozen member clubs, rather than just
the 4-5 now, and although the 4WDABC may lose a small amount of
dollars due to opt-outs, the overall gain of having numerous other
clubs included would outweigh the loss of the few individuals not
willing to pay.
This is coming from me personally, not necessarily the Roverlanders, so if you have an opinion and would like to have some further input, please feel free to discuss it here, but also plan on attending the AGM on March 18th.
thanks, Dave
