As i've just removed my seat box and tub to prep my frame, i had to remove the yellow 2wd/4wd knob to get the centre console off.
As i was looking at it i noticed I could pull the end of the assembly out of the transmission (the pin that sits in the actual transfer case). Being a newbie - is this correct? It should just be able to come out like "that" ?

There should be a screw that is screwed into the transfer case that the linkage pivots on. It is not a big deal and shifting the red knob from low back to high should allow you to put the pin back in place.
