Series shock absorber armor

#1 Post by Rob » Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:46 pm

Hello

These are a bit of an oddity, came off of a BC Forestry Series 3 88 Land Rover. Heavy steel armor plates that protect the lower section of the rear axle shock absorbers. Pretty heavy duty, attaches onto the spring hangers below the shock mounts using the axle u-bolts. Looks to have been shop-built. I wire brushed the rust and gave it a coating of paint. Some pitting from rust but lots of metal left. Not sure how functional these are but looking to see if anyone is interested in using them on their rig. Best offer takes them.

Thanks for looking, Rob

Interesting, I had the same thing on a series two truck. I thought they were just a home made thing but now I wonder if they were a forestry thing?

They are a little crude but look like they'd do a good job of protecting the shocks from underbrush and snags. Nothing "light duty" about them, that's for sure.
