You don't want that, it will not run worth a dam on diesel ;)

Mark,

Are you planning on replacing with V8 with something else? Or simply re-building the existing engine?

Either ways, good luck with the project. Looking forward to seeing you at one of our runs when the weather gets warmer.

It's a om606 turbo, a 6l90e transmission and a Ashcroft special transfercase

I met this super nice guy online that had done this conversion more than once (they are the goto non OEM swap in Europe). I ended up shipping all my parts to his place and then he boxed them up and sent them here in a single shipment. Saved a ton of shipping. Also he had great advice.

It’s from Ashcroft. I HDed everything I could.. went to a higher gear set and the atb.

I figured that with all the torque from the new engine and the fact that I’m running 4.43 diffs I could use a higher gear.

It's being done at big country customs in Abbotsford. They also made my rear bumper for me amount many other things. They don't say no there.

Had an issue with the linkage for my transfercase. I had too move it back because of the longer transmission. I didn't want to cut more holes in the floor and cut up my automatic console. I found the solution by following what the English guys are doing when they swap Cummins in... Often they put in larger transmissions including alisons! They go with a pneumatic system.. maybe an alternative for the disco guys who want to put CDL in....

Looks great Mark, you will be ready for the long summer months of exciting mountain adventures and cozy camp outs 8)

I guess you will still need that extra fuel container though!

Should be able to get in the mid 20s unless I push the skinny pedal! Plus with the six speed transmission I have two overdrive gears...

So the engine is working like a top... having an issue with the transmission not shifting properly. I had the transmission rebuilt prior to installation. The truck was towed to the transmission shop yesterday. Sooo close. I will want to put miles on it before taking it into the bush. I know everyone that goes in comes out, but I don't want to have to rely on the club to deal with my mishugas.

Okay update... It was a setting on the controller... Shifting now... I've been driving it around for a couple of weeks... My new gauges are partially installed... The vnt mechanism for the turbo needs adjusting and after that the fuelling needs to be tweaked to the turbo.
Right now as long as I am slow and gentle on the throttle it behaves itself and a small puff of black smoke comes out the exhaust. If I really hit it then a massive black cloud comes pouring out. Very handy for tailgaters.
