Engines from the UK

#1 Post by landcrabmechanic » Thu Jan 07, 2021 8:29 am

Hello all.

My TD5 has finally arrived from the UK. Time to get it ready for install into my disco.
I have an engine supplier in the UK if anyone would like a TD5 for their trucks. You can deal directly with as I am not and will not be a middleman, which will also save you money.
Also have a great shipping agent and company to get the parts delivered to Vancouver.
PM me for details.

Cheers
Scott

Hi. Did you get the TD5 with wiring harness and ECM complete?

Hi Tony,
I got everything, minus AC compressor so I hope I can make my V8 one fit. Even got an extra core turbo and extra core alternator.
Full harness including fuse panels. Ecu I got separately as I needed one for an auto.

I am now going through the engine and will bench run it before installing.

Would you happen to have a nanocom I could use for disabling of the immobilizer?
If not I have found a way to do it, it is just more complicated than the nanocom way.

My Nanocom only has TD5 engine on it, not Defender. I did not know you could disable the immobilizer. I will send a pm about your contact. I want to build a D2 TD5 also.

Hi Tony,
the nanocom td5 should disable the immobilizer.
Once I get thie engine prepped and ready to run, would I be able to borrow for a couple days?
I am also looking at buying a nanocom for myself. Is it worth the money?

Scott,

I also have a Nanocom (D2 V8 Motronic) that you can borrow for a few days if you like. I live in Chilliwack.

Marty,

Unfortunately, my Nanocom only came with software for a Disco 2 - Motronic V8.

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately, I would need the td5 nanocom.
I just ordered the Faultmate msv2, blackbox-solutions has said it will do everything the nanocom will do for td5 as well as the D1 stuff.
Will see if it actually works.
