Hey folks... I'm putting together a small go bag kit .. spanners, sockets, spare bits and parts, fuses etc..
What are you all carrying in your ammo cans or tool rolls?

Re: Go bag...
Hi Stu
For local trips the best "Rover Repair Kit" is a fully-charged cell phone and a BCAA card! ;)
I have 2 large aluminum boxes that I have set-up for traveling in the rovers. One is for "repair" and the other is for "recovery".
In the "repair" box I have:
- tool bag - sockets and wrenches, adjustable wrench, small pipe wrench, ratchet with an extendable handle plus a socket extension, pliers, vice grips, wire cutters, screwdrivers, a small hacksaw, small pry bar, cold chisel, hammer, flashlight, magnet pick-up tool, small multi-meter, lug wrench, knife, small file and some emery cloth, butane lighter.
- Tire changing/repair gear - tubeless repair kit, can of quick inflate/sealant, lug wrench, axle jack and handle, 12volt air pump
- booster cables
- Repair "parts" - some fuses, hose clamps, small tin of nuts and bolts, baling wire, JB Weld, Gorilla tape, strips of inner tube, electrical wire with a few connectors and tape, spare light bulbs, WD40, starting fluid, fan belt, a bit of spare hose.
- maintenance "supplies", nitril gloves, plastic garbage bags, leather work gloves, eye protection, 12volt trouble light, old coveralls, 1 litre of oil (15W40), brake fluid, jug of water, 1 litre of ATF (will double as PS pump fluid in a pinch), hand cleaner, small container of grease and a small tube of silicone-type sealant, bottle of radiator "stop leak".
- If I am going on a longer trip I will add to the kit a spare U-Joint, wheel drive flange, gear oil, spare headlight bulb.
- When I am taking the series truck I will also have a spare set of points and condenser, rear axle shafts and spare fuel pump (or just the diaphram)
- I always carry a basic OBD2 code reader in the Disco.
The "recovery" box has come-along winches, straps, chains and other tools for getting the rover out of a tight spot.
This can add a lot of weight and I have rarely needed to use much of it but every now and then it sure comes in handy.
Cheers, Rob
