Original master cylinders are very $$ and had to find over here. You can get yours rebuilt but they usually need to be sleeved (e.g. pitted bore) and that is also expensive. Or, you can go non-original and buy a Wilwood MC to replace it. Simple conversion, hidden and works perfectly. I have one in my 80" after multiple rebuilds of the stock one that failed within a year or two.

Willwood remote reservoir:

Willwood remote reservoir tandem (split) m/c:

Upgrade to this style and have separate brake feeds to front & rear, just like a modern car!

If it’s a LHD you can also fit a CB type of brake master cylinder as fitted to Series 2 swb. It’s not super expensive and looks near identical to the original S1 (with same pipe connections, unless you crawl under the land rover.

Partnumber is 520849

What style/model indicator lamp do you need?

Can you post a picture of the master cylinder fitted to your truck, as stated above it may have already been converted to use the cheaper series 2 LWB CB style brake master

Numbers matching always is worth more. I’m pretty sure your motor is a replacement engine. There were some red painted engines sold off in the 90’s from the Belgian military old stock.

Re: replacement engine - given the red paint on the exhaust pipe and hoses, I'd venture a guess that someone just spray painted it. IF it was one of the Belgian engines, there wouldn't be over spray onto all the other bits that wouldn't have come with it. Also, on the engine pic you can see areas the paint missed, eg. under the carb.

Just my 2 cents.
