March 28 Rover All Over Rally - Fraser Valley

#1 Post by DaveB » Mon Mar 08, 2004 9:04 am

Hi Everyone,

After some discussion with Buzz Chandler of PCRC, Andrew and I decided to rename the Gymkhana to "Rover All Over". The reason being, in future years we can do a cross-over event with the US folks as they also do a Rover All Over rally every Feb/March. They just finished theirs a couple of weeks ago.

So I can give you a starting point -- the Ricki's Restaurant in Surrey where we always hold our club meetings. We will be leaving there at 9:30 sharp, so if you want breakfast, be there early.

The rally is a non-damaging road driving event around the Fraser Valley. We encounter gravel once or twice for a tiny bit, but no off-roading this time round.

You will be collecting answers to numerous questions along the way to build points. Trivia questions will be included for bonus points. As well, prizes will be hidden in several spots, and the "best" average time will be taken into consideration to select a winner.

The event will end in Abbotsford at my place for a bit of a BBQ around 2ish, or whenever you roll in.

What you need - Land Rover, petrol/diesel, a clipboard, and appropriate footwear as you'll have to get out and wander around a bit here and there. Best to have a driver and passenger, as your spotter/navigator.

There will be a $5.00 charge per person to help cover cost of food. Let me know if you plan on attending.

thanks, Dave

Special thanks to Andrew and Dave and Pam Blair for hosting this event . Now that the run is over, it is certainly very obvious that a lot of work was put into organizing it. Thanks for the wonderful day ; sunshine and Land Rovers are a great combination .
The Bolduc's . :D
