The 2007 national Rally will be held in Montrose, CO. just south of Grand Junction (less then 100 miles to Moab)
This is the current list of trails I am working on. It is not set yet, but I intended to have a final trail list and daily schedule NLT the end of December.
These range from #2 and 3 rated forest service roads through #10 rated half mile trails that take 4+ hours to complete.

Alpine Loop- Animus, Engineer, Cinnamon 3
Animas, Cinnamon, Carson 4
Animas, Placer, Eureeka Gulch 4
Bolam Pass, Scotch Creek 4
Clear Lake, Bandora Mine 4
Corkscrew Gulch, Minnehaha, Prospect 4
Imogene, Last Dollar 4
Kenny Resevoir, Anderson 4
Lost Day Mine, Red Mountain Mines 4
Ophir, Alta 4
Peach Valley 4
Rattle Snake Canyon 4
Black Bear, Imogene 5
Long Slough 6
North Delta 6
Yankee Boy, Governors Basin 6
Bangs Canyon 7
Clutch Creek 7
Mineral Creek, Poughkeepsie Gulch, California 7
Cactus II 8
Coal Canyon 8
Grand Valley 8
Rough Creek, Rough Canyon 8
Scratch and Dent 8
Billings Canyon 9
Cactus Ridge 9
Calamity 9
Topless 9
Die Trying 10

We are also looking at having registration up and working by the end of the year. LWG has been talking to hotels and I have a list of camp grounds that I will add to this thread later.

There will be some that are thinking "August, wtf are we talking about this now for"
Well we know that there are people that need to plan vacation times and budgets month in advance and want to provide as much information as we have as quickly as possible.

"Official" hotel lined up with a special rate.

Best Western Red Arrow
970-249-9641
59 rooms available, 58 now.
$78 for every room
Must ask for Solihull Society or Land Rover National Rally to get group rate and call for rate, DO NOT BOOK ONLINE!
Must book by July 15th or the rooms will be released!
They offer Deluxe Continental breakfast and high speed Internet.
www.bestwestern.com/redarrow

We encourage everyone to stay here as if we fill up the hotel we will get the conference room for free. That's saves the club $350 a day and allows us to keep the registration fees to a minimum. We have reserved the entire hotel and they claim to have tons of parking for trailers and such. They also allow pets...

This is one of the best rates in town as this is considered peak season. The regular rate at this Best Western is something like $109 a night. There are one or two cheaper hotels where you can save something like $10 a night, but that's about it. If we happen to fill this hotel soon I will search for a second hotel to work on a "special" rate.

More details can be found in the Solihull Society forums...

Look in the Ralley Topic, 2007 Trail List, and Maps thread for more detailed info regarding trails. I will be updating the thread weekly as I create more maps.

Still don't have the online registration up, but hopefully by Feb 15th.
We have been updating the rally web site
www.LandRoverNationalRally.com
I have been talking to a couple folks from the PCRC so it looks like there might be a convoy coming from the Northern Pacific.
Hope you guys can make it. Promises to be a fun time.

ps. for 2008 we will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary in Moab. 16-20 September 2008 :D

Dave,
I know a couple folks from the PCRC are coming out.
Maybe you all can convoy together.

Well, found out that shortly after scheduling this years National Rally that a contract for a very large hotel renovation was handed down and Montrose will be housing no less than 250 rooms for this contract. Soooo the rooms are booking up fast! That being said we have managed to reserve a couple of blocks of rooms for our participants. I would HIGHLY recommend booking your room now as even if the construction companies don't take the rooms, August is peak season for tourism out here.

Here are the two hotels, number of rooms and rates that we have held. Rest assured we have personally visited both sites and can vouch they are clean, nice, safe and what we would consider "worthy" of our members.

Country Lodge
1624 East Main (Right next to the Best Western)
www.countryldg.com
$85 night
Holding 6 rooms (All that was left)
Must ask for Solihull Society or Land Rover National Rally to get special rate
970-249-4567

Holiday Inn Express
1291 S. Townsend
$101 night
Holding 20 rooms, can reserve more if needed but will need to do so very quickly
Must call to reserve and ask for LNR rate to get special rate
1-800-550-9252

All hotels have Continental breakfast and High Speed Internet access included in their room

Less then 2 months to go until the Rally.
Remember there is a late for for registrations/payments received after 21 July.
If you haven't registered yet please do. We need a good head count for the various caterers.
Big list of vendors and sponsors this year. Lots of great prizes for the raffle.
We testing out a couple new ideas this year, driver training and a GPS course for example.
We have arrange a large tent for the Vendor Expo and the banquette dinner so plenty of room.
The Expo will have food provided (cookout) and there will be a cash bar set up (first two drinks provided by Off-Rovering).
LRNA is sponsoring the banquette diner.
We have also arrange a shuttle bus to run between the evening social events (Thur, Fri, & Sat) and the Rally hotels.
It's going to be an excellent Rally this year. With over 30 different trails to run over a wide spectrum of difficulty, and 3 nights of social activities.
Thanks again to all of our Sponsors and Venders.
