ABS light on - Disco 1

#1 Post by pathfinder » Thu May 03, 2007 5:01 am

Finally got the lift in the Disco but now my ABS light is on. I notice that I can't feel the brake system self test when I turn the ignition on now...probably why the light isn't going out. Any suggestions on where to start? Doesn't really matter all that much but is an annoyance.

Thanks!

Check your wheel speed sensors assembly(if you haven’t already), they can be dislodged during suspension work and of course check the attached wiring harness.

I tried what Paul C recommends to no avail.

I drove my truck for several month before fixing.

On my 97 Disco the light came on due to the relay for the light failed.
You can test the anti lock system by driving one set of wheels on pavement & the other on grass & hit the breaks.

No fault after doing a lift.

Relay P/N v23134-a52-x137 siemens ywb 10032.
Dealer found the fault.

So, it turns out I'm just semi retarded...I unplugged a wiring harness in and amongst farting around...and forgot to plug it back in.

Those are my favorite kinda fixes!
