Glad to know you want to come to our part of the world for some R&R. Is it just you, or are you bringing your wife and kids as well? I tried to find a rental Land Rover for a gent from London a few years ago and was unsuccessful. No one even rents new ones. There might be someone on this site that has something privately, and I'm sure someone from the club would be going on an outing that you could go along on. You are welcome to go for a drive here but I live at a difficult place to get to from Vancouver. It takes about 4 hours from downtown to downtown with a 2 hour ferry ride in the middle. Vancouver Island would welcome you though, I'm sure, if you have a few days to spend here. (280 miles long by 80 miles wide) If you elect to come to the Island, contact me first so I can let you know my work schedule as I work shift-work.
Pay attention while you are here and you will see just how rare a Series or Defender really is.
March and into early April is a wonderful time to be here as the foliage is starting to bud and come into leaf and bird life explodes with the coming spring. Remember that this part of the world usually has the old poem screwed up. Here it is more like "April Flowers bring May Showers".
Vancouver Visit.

Cols 110, Was that the one about tires & a boat for a cross Canada trip? --no-- that was someone from the Netherlands or Belgium. I've replied to numerous and remember seeing your post but can't remember details of it.
Tell us again your travel plans. You were to be here working and with weekends off as I recall. When? and have you firmed up you plans?

If you get to the Island AND it is my days off AND the weather is nice enough, I just happen to have three or four kayaks and a canoe laying about and would love to go for a paddle. The trouble is the long drive to a good spot. I usually find I have to drive 4 to 7 miles before I am at a spot worth the effort. On the other hand I have to drive 3 to 4 miles to some good Off-Road areas.

Saturday April 3rd I'm around till about 1:30 PM when I have to go home to bed for work night-shift (6 pm to 6 am). So Yes, I am available but only Friday evening and Saturday till 1:30. I could take you for a bit of a drive, I'm sure your wife would enjoy the scenery as well. The scenery is my top reason for going on these excursions. And then I could point you in some regular, road-top sight-seeing direction for the rest of Saturday and Sunday. Would you be thinking of a Friday sailing or not catching the ferry till Saturday morning? Could you e-mail me direct for planning details. [email protected]
