I'm using 2" Aluminum spacers on my Disco II and have been very happy with the result. Still retained the stock ride, but just enough additional height to get through a lot more off-road. Installing them on the Disco II, I had to use the hydraulic jack that came with the truck to stretch the suspension openings, and used a spring compressor from Canadian Tires freel tool loaner program for compressing the springs to remove them. It took about 4 hours total.

I wouldn't install a block heater, you would be better off with an external coolant heater. It's an aluminum heater with hose fittings and a plug, you mount it low in the engine bay and run hoses from the engine and heater lines.
A better but more expensive way to go would be a diesel fired coolant heater like this one in Abbotsford http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 499017[url]
With a google search you will find lots of info on turbo and pump boosting for the 200TDI.

The hose heaters are available for about $32 at Canadian Tire. You just have to know the inside diameter of your lower rad hose to know which one to buy...

Heater
I've got about six diesel fired coolant heaters sitting here. They are not "rover" but are U.S. Army issue and were still currently in production up unitl last year and still may be as far as I know. They are Southwind units. about three are complete as far as I can tell, and three are for parts. No hoses. Wouild sell CHEAP or trade for truck goodies. I can send pics to an email address.
