1978 Land Rover Series 3 109, owned registered and insured for 35 years.
Ex MOD military 1 tonne chassis via Suffield rebodied in 1990 with an early 60's Series 2a Station Wagon body with safari roof.
Original 2.25 petrol engine.
Modifications include:
Mt Mansfiel heater, Hotspark Electronic Ignition with Flame Thrower Coil, Spin on oil filter, Oil pressure gauge, Superwinch hubs, Trakkers highback cloth seats.
Recent last 4 years maintenance includes;
Rear pinion seal, rebuilt gearbox, new clutch and release bearing, rebuilt steering box, new brake servo and master cylinder, rebuilt Zenith carburettor, partial engine renovation (new camshaft, timing chain, tensioner and tappet guides, rollers and sliders), new rear springs.
Needs include;
Horn not working, brakes work but could be better, glass sliders, passenger door paint delaminating.
