Annual Founders Day - Chilliwack - Sat Oct 5th - Call for Help
The countdown begins for our Annual Founders Day event! Sat Oct 5th at the Chilliwack Heritage Center. The doors officially open from 10 am to 4 pm. The first 75 paid entries get a door gift.
There will also be an offroad run in the Chilliwack area on the Sunday. We have made arrangements for overnight camping on the Sat night.
I have taken over as the organizer of the annual event since I live in Chilliwack. Plus help our illustrious Club President AndyD (and our committee) focus on the other areas of running the club, particularly with the immense work involved in organizing the runs.
We have been holding the Founders Day event over the past couple of years during the Labour Day weekend. Feedback from folks was the Labour Day weekend can be tough for those with families or have other personal commitments. Oct 5th ended up the best date available with the Chilliwack Heritage Center facility and our campsite hosts this year.
I am posting a call for volunteers to help on the day of the event:
- Set up - Tables / Chairs / Raffle / Kids Table / Signage (outside & inside)
- Entry Door - greeting / handing out door entry packages
- Parkers (visi-vests will be provided)
- Merchandise Table
- Raffle Table Set-up and Ticket Counters
- Raffle Ticket Sellers - Deborah
- Photographer (and drone?)
- Photowall (I will have pictures printed of the year's club events; just need help to stick to the photowall at the arena) - Brian K
- Clean up / Remove signage / clear tables and chairs
It would be great to we can get enough volunteers so that we can do short shifts. This will give volunteers time to mingle and visit. I am grateful for any help, even if you don't plan to be there the entire day.
Please kindly post below or private message me if you can volunteer and help us organise a great event this year. Thanks in advance!

HI Andrew, I am coming to the event and am happy to provide photographic services for most of the day, I do have to head back to Van in the afternoon to get ready for the next day's event. I have complete equipment so let me know what you need covered and I am happy to cover things for you. I do have a drone but it is not ready for use yet, so sorry for that but we should be able to get what you need. Anything specific let me know and I can be there as needed as the doors open. Cheers John 604 763-2266

I am thinking of setting up a Land Rover driving simulator for the kids (and adults). My sons have the XBox, monitor and steering simulator that I am going to steal for the day.
My vehicles are going to be packed with the event prizes and supplies. I will call you this coming week to help me to bring some stuff there on Sat morning.
