I am looking at buying a Garmin e Trex Legend CX for my Birthday and was wondering if this is a good thumbs up model, for the price from GPS Central
So give me a thumbs up or down

Andrew,
I have no idea of the features of this current model but a few years ago we tried to use Karl's eTrex on the Mackenzie Trail in the Range Rover. It did not work very well, I think the heated windshield had much to do with it. Reception was not good in the bush. I know that particular unit could not receive an external antenna.
Not sure what you want it for, hiking will differ from driving. I think the unit Don bought works very well in a vehicle.
Anyway, just some very brief points to consider. There is another thread on the subject recently started by Stuart I think.

Hi Andrew. The discussion on gps units can go on forever, as i am sure you know. Recently a large group of members of the herd , did a group buy on GPS UNITS. the model selected was a GARMIN GPS MAP 76CSX . it is on the web site at GPS CENTRAL. I looked at it in calgary last time there. it is an awsome unit for our use. it has the capability of expansion cards. AND IS UPLOADABLE AND DOWNLOADABLE AS WELL. CHECK IT OUT, not a bad price as well. all the best rick.m
