series 3 running again

#1 Post by larry emrick » Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:27 am

Many thanks to Aart and Chris, Pippa's '74 Series 3 is running again. Problem was a blown fuse, not one of the ones in the fuse box on the steering column, but one hidden behind the dash panel. They have taken the opportunity to do some other long-awaited maintenance, such as bushings and water pump, which I suspected was on its way out although it had not started to leak.
Overall, that truck has been pretty reliable in 15 years of shared ownership between Pippa and I. It was her wedding truck so I suspect it is going to stay in the family a long, long, time, so its worthwhile doing what's needed. It looks pretty shabby but it is a working horse farm truck. Before we got it I believe it had been one of Chris Palmer's Chilcotin expedition vehicles, although I can't swear to that. It's due home any day now, hopefully in time for the Big Snow.

Hi Larry, good to hear you're back on the road. That 88 has been a favourite at the ABFM for years. I'm sure Pippa is happy😊
