Eagle Ridge in Coquitlam

#1 Post by HeadDamage » Sat Jun 17, 2006 10:45 pm

Does/has anyone on here done the Eagle ridge trail/trials on the north side of Coquitlam? I've just figured out where these are while exploring with my KLX this evening... the trails look like a real hoot and they are right here on the edge of town.

Made it trough the muddy root section in the trees at the bottom today with the KLX and then go about half way up (1500ft) the road to the top before I got too tired of fighting the bike up the loose foot ball size rock trail. Should be a nice little day trip for a few rovers though.

Eagle Ridge is my old stompin' ground. Access to it has changed over the years and some sections of it have become more difficult and some easier. The present entrance can be a killer when it's really wet and as you've already found out the roots can throw you sideways into the maze of trees. It is a nice piece of trail so close to the city but after you have run it several times it gets a little boring. Seems like nine out of ten times the great view from the top is obscured by clouds. It is a great trail for testing out your new toys, ie lift kit, locker, tires... because if something goes wrong your close to help.

Went up the trail on Friday Jan 26th. Lots of snow up top had to turn around at about 1900ft as it was getting late. Great trail for testing new gear that is forsure :)
