N Tyler, 97 Disco 1, 300tdi/5spd.

This is my 1997 Discovery 1, purchased in August 2021.
A Previous owner had done a V8 -> 300tdi swap, and also changed out the automatic transmission to a 5speed gearbox.
The owner before me had also swapped in some OME medium duty springs, replaced suspension bushings, and a number of other general maintenance jobs, which was much appreciated. It’s been fairly well looked after while still being well used exploring the island.

It’s got some rust issues, as you would expect, and some other little gremlins that I need to chase down and repair. But on the whole I am quite pleased with it as a starting point to fix up and make mine.

One of the first things I did was to pick up a new set of tires, as the ones that were on it rubbed & were starting to have low tread. I found a good deal on a set of Defender take offs from another member, so made the drive to Squamish and picked them up. I quite like the profile and fit of them.
