Malaysian Defenders

#1 Post by Deranged Rover » Fri Oct 01, 2021 12:29 am

Hello.
A few here might remember me, but since I sold my Discovery II I have not been very active within the group. Hoping to change that soon...I have a contact in Singapore who is wondering if there is any interest within the group to acquiring an imported Defender from SE Asia (Singapore/Malaysia). I have visited and joined their group during a round the world trip in the Navy, and still maintain contact. These are the same people who sponsor the Rainforest Challenge. Larry is very active in the international community, and is the same fellow that has taken his D90 from Singapore to London a couple of times. This is still in the beginning stages. Malaysia has quite a presence for Landies, and their Military is a prime user. They replace their vehicles about every 8 years or so, and sell the surplus to the public. The club has several members who actually own a business that contracts maintenance out to the Malaysian Army to maintain these vehicles.

No time line has been established, mostly due to the COVID 19 situation, but things could start progressing if there is much interest. If the idea sounds workable, please contact me and I will do my best to answer questions, or pass them along.
My email is [email protected].
