I have a right hand rear seat belt I'm trying to install. My problem is that it won't unwind. It arrived wound on the reel and now I can't get it to relaese.
It's a used item I picked up from e-bay, did I buy a lemon or is there a "trick" to getting them unstuck?
Thanks, David.

Normally, position it in a clamp or vise with the metal clasp pointing straight up. Should be clamped fairly tight so it doesn't jiggle. Then hook it with a bent coat hanger or similar and it should pull out, providing the complete unit is held still.
Until I learned that, I would hold it in one hand and fight at it with the other and it would never release. the intertia-based locking mechanism requires it to be still to release.
Let me know if that worked for you...
