HIGHLIGHT
Duke to be carried in Land Rover he helped design

The Duke of Edinburgh was known for his practical skills and his enduring interest in design and engineering – and as such, it is a fitting tribute that his coffin will be carried in a purpose-built Land Rover, which he helped design.
The vehicle is believed to be a modified Defender 130 Gun Bus, which was commissioned in 2005.
In a Facebook post four years ago, Foley Specialist Vehicles said it delivered a totally rebuilt Gun Bus to Philip for use on his estates.
The Land-Rover was reportedly made to his specifications in traditional deep bronze green, and was also specially modified to carry a coffin.

The Land Rover will process slowly through the grounds of Windsor Castle ahead of the Duke’s funeral on April 17 at St George’s Chapel.
"Members of the Royal Family and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Household will walk behind the coffin from the Quadrangle, down Chapel Hill and into Horseshoe Cloister. The Funeral Service will begin with a National Minute’s Silence at 3pm," the palace confirmed in a statement.

A bearer party from the Grenadier Guards will place the coffin on the Land Rover at the state entrance of the castle, before the vehicle begins the eight-minute journey – at walking pace – to the west steps of the chapel.
"Positioned in the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle will be representative detachments drawn from His Royal Highness’s military special relationships."
Prince Philips Naval Cap and Sword will be placed on the coffin ahead of the service and His Royal Highness’s Insignia will be laid on the Altar of the Chapel.
"At the conclusion of the service, His Royal Highness will be interred in the Royal Vault in St George’s Chapel."
