Add some lights to my Disco
While doing some routine maintenance I found some connectors behind the grill of my Disco and a pair of relays hidden at the end of the under hood fuse box.
I set up a quick test to confirm my suspicion it was left over driving light wiring
An old driving light used to test the circuit - note the very secure connection

And the test result

Now as it happens these are wired up as aux driving lights which means they only work with the hi-beams on, which means I can leave them uncovered in theory. I did order covers for rock protection. Additionally they use a stock Discovery 2 Switch so big win there.

My biggest challenge was how to mount the lights, I decided to give one of those aluminum license plate mounts for LED lights a try. As it turns out by adding two supports it should work brilliantly as the supports I added are going to carry most of the weight.
2 x 3 watt LED floods mounted, you can see the test support between the lights. I had to buy new female connectors but they turned out to be a stock connector from CDN tire.

Once that was done I needed spotlight, I really liked the ones on @cmcgowan LR4 (my apologies for not remembering your 1st name) and the price for one was decent so that was ordered and installed. Currently I am only mounting one if it turns out I need more I can order an 2nd one and mount the pods elsewhere.
The pod lights are intentionally aimed slightly to the side for better lighting of the road edges.

And few images of everything working - note no daytime running lights yet on the big light
Headlights only

Everything, notice the reflection on the windshield cast back

No orange halo yet, I need to tap the Day the Running lights. I figure I would wait until I decided if I need a second light.

Nice, very enlightening
Make sure your not breaking any laws, you don't want a ticket like me & Martin were both slapped with!
I'm wondering if with all these lighting improvements that you're trying to send me a message that we've been getting into camp a bit late

Funny enough that last trip was the push to get the pods mounted they have been sitting in the garage for 8 months :)
