First post and question

#1 Post by Rich Lambert » Thu May 28, 2020 8:35 am

Thanks for accepting me!

I've got a '58 S2 88" that was originally sold out of Rootes Motors Inc. in Vancouver. It looks like it was part of a fleet of 5 like vehicles. They were all Himpey Yellow and had consecutive VIN numbers. I have 144801176. Does anybody know the whereabouts of 144801177-1180? I'd like to find out more of the history of these.

Here's what mine looks like now.

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum :occasion5:

Very tidy looking Land Rover, thanks for sharing the photos.
I have a 1956 that came through Rootes Motors, Vancouver, a couple of years before yours did. I often wonder how many have survived.

Cheers
Andy

Series Ones? Not the seventy percent that Land Rover claims. But over fifteen percent have been located that were exported to North America. For the past couple of years, there is an initiative over at www.NASOR.org to try and gather up as many sightings and serial numbers as possible, whether the vehicle is scrap or concours, to determine a survival rate. As for the number of them exported to the North American Dollar Area -
