#1 Post by jasonkennett » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:08 pm

Is anyone running these tires on their Series I Disco?

235/85R16
255/85R16
265/75R16

If you are could you please describe your corresponding suspension set-up?

Thanks,

Just went throught this nightmare for tires depending on how many kms youre disco has, makes a big deal with tire size, the springs on my Disco are tired. i have a 96 and the largest size i could fit on was a 255 70 16, i had stock 235 70 16. i went with this tire as it is a little under a 31 inch tire yet is wider than the 245.
You can fit a 245 75 16 that have a hight of 31 inches, so depending on what you have done to the suspension means alot. Im talking in stock suspensions no lifts. When i put the 255 on there are only a few tire companys that make the size, one being bf and dunlop. I think the 235 85 16 is close to a 32 which i think you may need a lift and depending on what load rating could be a little tall and skiny for the landy, just my opion.
As i said im running stock suspension with pro comp shocks and im running 255/70/16. I just look and they are 10.4 inches wide and 30.4 inches tall.

Cheers
Andrew

Hope this helps

Thanks for your input Andrew.

I hadn't considered the 255/70/16 since I am looking for a taller tire and already have a 2" OME lift. Those tires that I listed are all technically between 31.6-33.1" diameter so I a lift is definitely required.

Jason,

If you have not already done so you should visit the discoweb.org site. Aside from the numerous threads on the subject in the bulletin board section there is also a section under "Tech" called "Tires and Wheels" which might give you the info you need.
