Getting ready to do my head gaskets on 4.6l V8
Does anyone have feedback on Arp studs vs the TTY bolts ?

Re: Arp vs Standard head bolts
I have used arp prod before on other engines. Good product but very expensive.
Unless you are bumping up to a few hundred hp I don't think they are worth the cost.
Standard head bolts are great, quite inexpensive, usually come with a good quality head gasket set.

Re: Arp vs Standard head bolts
Thanks for the feedback Scott, My issue is really that I have never used the TTY head bolts. I understand stud's and nuts quite well the extra 150.00 - 200.00 is not a terrible price to get this done right the 1st time and have it last.

Re: Arp vs Standard head bolts
The tty bolts are just like any other bolt. The torque specs are designed to prevent stripping the holes in the block and also to prevent crushing the head gasket too much.
I bought a top end gasket set from Arizona on eBay and it came with head bolts. They worked just fine and I have zero issues with my disco 4.0.
