300 tdi. Fip not working or not timed correctly?
So I just had to replace an o ring in the back of my fuel injection pump. After timing it with the pin in the flywheel and pin in the front of the injection pump and re-attaching all the pipes and tubes I bled the air from the fip intake banjo and then the four injectors one at a time. The truck is hardly able to start and idle and when it does it has zero response to throttle. When I am bleeding the injectors there doesn’t seem to be a lot of pressure when the diesel squirts out. But I have nothing to compare it to. What do you think?

Double check the timing. There is more than one slot on the flywheel.

I sort of noticed that. Is it possible to get the pin into the fip with the flywheel in both spots? If so as long as I put it back the same way wouldn’t it be timed correctly still?

I'd double check the pins and also look at the marking points on the pulleys. I don't generally use the flywheel pin. Where are you located?

What position on the pump drive can you insert the pin? It should be at approx 10 to the hour. It’s also possible to orient the pump drive slots at 20 past the hour using the same flywheel marking.

It seems as though the belt somehow came off of the cam pulley even tho I used the belt retaining tool.... that would be the problem!
