1965 Series 2A 109 For Sale

#1 Post by DrRangelove » Fri May 31, 2019 8:59 am

Hi Everyone,

I'm moving back to Ontario this summer and although the plan is to come back to BC in 3-5 years it pains me to think of my Series 2A sitting under a tarp and deteriorating so I've decided to put her up for sale.

You can see my build thread here: http://roverlanders.bc.ca/roverforum/vi ... =15&t=6548

This Land Rover has had a full body off restoration/overhaul which started in 2013 and if I'm being honest is still ongoing, but the Land Rover is plated and is driven regularly.

To my knowledge, the body/frame has only 28,000 miles on it - when I picked it up it had a 1973 plate on it and had clearly been parked for 40 years. The engine and transmission are from a 1963 believed to have 60,000 miles on it.

Frame was completely stripped, painted and wayoxled.
New Rocky Mountain parabolic springs
New Webber Carb
New wiring loom from the UK
Head gaskets done, engine has had a top end overhaul and fettle.
Transmission (including transfer case) was stripped down, inspected and parts replaced as needed
Body has been stripped down and given a DIY paint job with grey hammerite. Some body panels have dents/dings which is what lets this vehicle down - some call it patina...
Will need new tires at some point. Wiper motors need stripping down and cleaning and the turn signal actuator needs looking at. other than that you can pick her up and driver her home (as long as it's not raining!).

Really hard to put a value on these vehicles with some of the crazy prices I've seen recently. I know what I've put into it and I'll never see that back - I am willing to part with this Landy for $13,500. Not looking to negotiate, trade or entertain lower offers - if it doesn't sell it will stay in storage until I return to BC.

The truck is located at Horne Lake, Vancouver Island

Oh and I have a ton of spare bits and bobs for this vehicle too - these will go with the truck if/when it sells...
