Land Rover Discovery II - SOLD

#1 Post by ANDYD » Sat Sep 29, 2018 2:31 pm

Thought I would put this out there before we trade this vehicle in when we complete our purchase of a new vehicle.

Land Rover Discovery II - Dark Green 4.6 SE7 (7 seats) only 142,000kms All black leather interior, the interior and exterior body work all in excellent condition throughout. Everything electrical works well, windows, 2 sunroofs, locks. No sun roof leaks, near new BFG AT's, All brakes are working well. Heater and Air Cond all working well. Front and rear heated windsheilds both working. No rust anywhere. Has not been off-road.
The trade-in value we've been offered is only $2500 so if there are any Rover-Landers that are interested, the first $2500 can take it, let me know.....

Full disclosure, the engine will need a rebuild, at the least new head gaskets and the oil pump will likely need attention. Its still running & drivable but not recommended that its driven any kind of distance until the engine work is done. I was considering putting a diesel in it but don't have the garage room to work on it.

Let me know....
Cheers,
Andy

Is there anything wrong with the motor other than the head gasket/oil pump issue?

The short answer is I don't know for sure.
The shop is telling me that it needs to be taken apart for a proper inspection and only then can they tell me what needs work and what doesn't. I believe that if you are stripping it down for head gaskets and oil pump then there are a bunch of things that you may as well do at the same time while you are in there.
